Monster Hunt Targets: How Should Your Guild Choose?

The highest-level monster isn't always the best target. Use remaining HP and hunt damage to set a more efficient priority for your guild.

Monster Hunt Targets: How Should Your Guild Choose?
IN SHORT
  • When choosing a monster level, consider whether you can hunt it, your hero damage, and the hits needed to finish it.
  • Compare remaining HP with your own hunt results; base the finishing hit on measured damage, not a guess.
  • Assign targets and finishing hunters within your guild to avoid unnecessary marches to the same monster.
CONTENTS

You spot a monster, post it in guild chat, and everyone marches at once. The monster dies, but two hunters are still on their way. Meanwhile, a second monster across the map is nearly finished. In Lords Mobile monster hunting, the problem often isn't weak heroes. It's not knowing which target to hunt first.

This guide isn't about dealing more damage on your own. We'll use monster level, remaining HP, and your hunt results to build a target order that works for your guild. For hero lineups and general energy management, see the earlier monster hunting guide. You'll find more game guides on the blog.

Identify the Target Before You March

Seeing three monsters on the map doesn't make them equal opportunities. First, check each monster's level, remaining HP, distance from your castle, and whether a guildmate is already marching toward it. Then confirm that your account can hunt that level. Putting an inaccessible level on the list gives your hunting team a task it can't complete.

Suppose there's a full-HP monster nearby and another of the same level farther away with 15% HP left. The second target may be worth discussing first if you can finish it. But if a guildmate's finishing march is already underway, the priority changes again. Target selection isn't complete until you've checked what your guild is doing right now.

Don't overlook monster type. A hero team that performs well against one type may deal different damage against another with different defenses. Read the monster's information screen, then note your hunt result after the first attempt. Sending the same heroes to every monster based on level alone can throw off your estimated hit count, especially on tougher targets.

Quick decision order: Can you hunt it? How much HP remains? How many hits will you need? Is a guildmate already on the way?

Choose Levels by Efficiency, Not Prestige

A high-level monster looks tempting, but level alone doesn't make it a good target. The level unlocked by your monster hunt research, your heroes' strength, and your available energy should all shape the decision. If you're hunting for a guild gift, plan to finish the monster, not just deal damage to it.

Imagine two candidates: one is higher-level at full HP; the other is lower-level with 20% HP remaining. If your team can finish the second with a few planned hits, taking it first may make sense. On the other hand, don't abandon the first monster just because its HP percentage is higher if strong hunters are assigned and a finishing plan is ready. Use the energy cost shown in your game and your previous hunt damage. There is no fixed energy number that fits every account.

When comparing two monsters of the same type and level, results from an unchanged hero team are more useful. Don't treat damage percentages from different monster types or hero lineups as equivalent. That turns “We can get this one in three hits” into an estimate your guild can actually test.

Plan Hits Around Remaining HP

A simple comparison is enough to plan a finishing hit: match the target's remaining HP percentage against damage from your recent hunts of the same type and level. Say the monster has 17% HP left and you've dealt about 8% per hit in comparable attempts. Two hits may not be enough; reserve energy and a hunter for a third. If another guildmate can deal about 10% to that target, you may be able to arrange a two-hit sequence together. These figures are examples; your own hunt results take priority.

Watch for two traps. First, don't use a hit on a nearly dead monster as a damage test: the target dies early, so that result won't show your team's full potential. Second, don't compare hits made under different conditions as if they were identical. If you changed heroes or are benefiting from increased damage on consecutive hunts, don't treat the first attempt and later hits as equal.

You don't need a lengthy spreadsheet. Four fields in guild chat will do: “type and level / remaining HP / my latest comparable damage / estimated hits.” For example, “17% HP / about 8% damage per hit” is far more useful than “someone hit it.” Name the finishing hunter in the same message.

Prevent Overlapping Guild Hunts

The more hunters you have, the more costly poor communication becomes. Instead of four people independently marching toward one low-HP target, have someone report it, someone check existing marches, and a hunter who can finish it confirm the plan. This isn't a rank rule; it's a division of work that can take just a few messages.

  1. Whoever shares the target posts its type, level, and remaining HP.
  2. Hunters who set out say “march sent,” so others can see it before planning another hit.
  3. After the first result arrives, update the estimated number of hits needed to finish.
  4. Assign a finishing hunter; everyone else saves their energy for the next target.

If two monsters are both low on HP, don't send every hunter to the first. Assign enough to finish it and leave another hunter for the second. Someone else's hunt may change the situation while your marches are traveling, so check the target's remaining HP one last time. Your guild's goal isn't to attack at once; it's to finish targets in a controlled order.

Hunt message to post in guild chat

  • Post the monster's type, level, and remaining HP percentage.
  • Add your latest comparable hunt damage and estimated number of hits.
  • Say whether hunters are already on the way and name the finishing hunter.

Review Your Daily Hunting Route

Start your daily route with three groups: ready to finish, needs a team, and too costly for now. Put targets you can finish with measured hunt damage in the first group. Reserve the second for monsters that need coordinated strong hunters. Don't force the third group merely because those monsters are on the map.

Here's one possible flow: Check two accessible targets with 10–20% HP remaining. Rather than relying on the percentages alone, compare your hunters' recent damage. As you send the march to finish one, decide who will take the other. Then reassess your energy before tackling a higher-HP target. The route starts with a target you can finish, not necessarily the nearest monster.

Don't put ordinary map monsters and special event monsters on one list without checking the event's in-game conditions. If you use LordsRally, its 👾 event monster notification or !mobs command can help you find special monsters on the map. Neither is a complete hunting route for every ordinary monster. See commands for command coverage and features for notification coverage.

For your guild's next hunt, pick three targets, record their remaining HP, and assign finishing hunters before anyone marches. If you'd like to add special monster notifications to that plan, get in touch with LordsRally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should we hunt the highest-level monster?

No. First check whether you can hunt that level, then whether your guild can finish the monster with its available energy and damage. A lower-level target with little HP left may be the better one to complete first.

Is remaining HP enough to calculate the finishing hit?

Not by itself. Include damage from your hunts of the same type and level with a similar hero team, plus any guild marches already on the way.

Is dealing damage enough to earn a guild gift?

No. Build the plan around killing the monster, not just landing the first hit. Assign a finishing hunter and account for any extra hits beforehand.

Never lose track of your target again

LordsRally tracks your target castles, finds them again after they teleport and alerts your guild.
